Prevention is better than cure

As temperatures start to rise it’s always good to think about how we will walk our four legged friends to make sure they are safe.

All dogs are at risk but particular care should be given to sick, elderly, young and brachycephalic dogs (dog with short muzzles).

Try using brain games instead of walks where suitable and leave the physical exercise for the cool mornings and evenings.

Heat stroke is serious and can be fatal…do not take risks. If you are in any doubt, contact your vet as soon as possible.
